..the many faces of Dlostboy..	About the site: lostinfo.com was purchased in June of '97(see references) to be a home for all the things that I wanted to put on the 'net. Several sites have found their way into lostinfo.com over the years, between gaming fan sites and web design sites it would seem that about anything could fit under this site's name. Finally I wanted a site just for me and what I had to offer, so I could think of nothing better than to name a site MY.lostinfo.com. About me: A child of an electrical engineer, I had an early start in computers (circa '85-'86) and continue to use them today. I'm now a Systems Administrator for an internet service provider in North Carolina. I work with NT/Win2K/FreeBSD servers and do most of my work in PERL, PHP and ColdFusion. My hobbies include car and home based hi-fi audio, computers (duh), movies (DVD,Theater), Disc Golf, playing music, and friends...lots of friends..
About my music: I love hair metal. My playing style reflects that. Since I've been playing guitar since 1989, I would like to think that my abilities grant me a wider range of playing styles, however I will probably always come home to the likes of Nuno Bettencourt, Zakk Wylde, and Steve Vai. Some example artists from my CD collection would be Godsmack, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, Extreme, Korn, AC/DC, Tears for Fears, Human League, Alice in Chains, DJ Laz, DJ Icey, Coolio, Beastie Boys, Metallica (pre Load), Enigma, George Michael, Tori Amos, Enya, Bruce Springsteen, Janet Jackson, Madonna, The Cure, Prince, John Mellencamp, Fuel, Eve 6, Peter Gabriel, and you get the idea... About "Dlostboy": Back in the day when I used to work at Burger King© , I had a bad habit of going out on break and not coming back 'till say- the next day. So once I returned from an extended absence and this big 'ole hick said "Well lookie there! The lost boy found his way home!". Well that kinda stuck and shortly after when I was searching for a nickname to use on AOL (circa '94-'95) my FIDONET/BBS nickname of Cyrano was taken, so I had to find a new one. So I tried "TheLostBoy" which was taken as well. This lead me to "Dlostboy" which has stuck with me ever since. So, no, my nickname doesn't come from the movie... Technicals: This site is running in PHP4 (Zend Optimized) with a mySQL back-end. The service is provided through Apache 1.3 running on my PII 400Mhz workstation at my desk that runs FreeBSD-4.x (Stable). 1985 Events: British scientist Joe Farman discovers the hole in the ozone. Scientists at Roslin Institute in Scotland clones a sheep, "Dolly". Lady Di killed in car crash.
